Plans that map to how APIs are actually used

Every plan gets the same data, the same latency and the same envelope. You're paying for volume, not features held hostage.

Frequently asked questions

Where does Forge weather data come from?

Forge aggregates data from multiple premium sources: NOAA/NWS (North America), MeteoFrance (Europe), Japan Meteorological Agency (Asia-Pacific), and regional meteorological services globally. We blend these sources and apply machine-learning models to improve forecast accuracy and ensure 99.95% data availability.

How frequently is weather data updated?

Current conditions and forecasts update hourly across all regions. Our regional cache strategy ensures 85ms median latency globally. During severe weather events (thunderstorms, hurricanes), critical regions update every 15 minutes.

Can I retrieve historical weather data?

Historical weather data is on our roadmap for Q3 2026. Currently unavailable. Sign up for product updates at forge-api.dev to be notified when historical archives launch (we'll offer 5+ years of hourly data initially).

What SLA does Forge offer?

Free and Starter tiers: 99% uptime SLA. Pro and Enterprise: 99.95% uptime SLA. SLA credits automatically apply to your next invoice if we miss targets. Enterprise customers may negotiate custom SLAs.

How does Forge secure API keys?

API keys are transmitted only over HTTPS. Keys are stored encrypted at rest. We support key rotation (POST /v1/keys/rotate) with 24-hour grace periods. Monitor your dashboard for suspicious activity; we alert on unusual request patterns and geographic anomalies.

What counts as one API request?

Each HTTP request to /v1/weather or /v1/geocode counts as one request toward your monthly limit. Batch geocoding (e.g., 100 addresses in one request) counts as one request, not 100. Webhook retries count toward limits.

Which temperature and pressure units does Forge support?

The units parameter accepts metric (Celsius, hPa), imperial (Fahrenheit, inHg), or kelvin (absolute temperature, hPa). Default is metric. Specify via query parameter: &units=imperial.

What happens if I exceed my rate limit or monthly quota?

Rate-limit overages: requests over your per-minute limit return HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) with RateLimit-Reset header. Quota overages: requests over monthly limits are rejected with 429 and an email alert. Upgrade your plan or contact sales for higher limits. Enterprise customers have custom thresholds.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. Paid tiers can be cancelled anytime via your dashboard or by contacting support. No long-term contracts. You retain access through the end of your current billing period. Free tier accounts never auto-charge.

Does Forge comply with GDPR and data residency requirements?

Yes. Forge complies with GDPR, CCPA, and regional privacy laws. Data for EU users is processed and stored in Frankfurt (EU region). UK users use London. APAC users: Singapore. Enterprise customers can request custom data residency arrangements. See our privacy policy for details.
